There was a fair size age gap between she and her sister and because of their ages and different interests they were never really close which was probably fortunate. Natasha fell in with 'The Wrong Crowd' in High School and despite her parents best efforts she set off on her rebellious streak in style. Underage sex and drinking ensued but seemed to simmer down towards the end of senior year only to flare up again as soon as she moved away to college. Her geographical distance from the family meant it took a while for her problems to really be noticed back home, where the whole subject only added more pressure to Melinda and Warren's then-fragile relationship. They divorced when Alanna was twelve and the court let her choose who to live with. She chose her mother because they were closer, though she maintained regular contact with her dad. Professionally Alanna found herself on her career path when the graveyard shift at the college radio station proved difficult to make popular. She volunteered to give it a go and she did a pretty decent job, upping the listener count and experimenting with different types of feature and music to see what worked. In her junior year she was offered the chance to fill in for the 'drive-time' slot while the regular DJ had mono and she happened to catch the attention of a producer from the largest local station, who offered her a job co-presenting. A little while after graduation that expanded into a TV-slot on a morning show and in January 2006 she was offered her own magazine-style programme...well, half of it. She co-hosts it with a guy in his thirties, something the producers believed would give a 'rounded view' of the subjects raised. Looks like they were right - the show might not be the biggest in the state but it has a strong following and almost everyone's aware of it. His abilities appear to have been much the same as his Greek equivalent, Hermes, though their specific mythology is very different. The key episode in Hermoth's history centers around his elder brother, Baldur, who was beloved of everyone and whose safety Frigg had secured by having every person, plant and creature promise not to harm him. Well. Every person, plant and creature other than misteltoe, which she deemed too 'young' to take such an oath. Loki, the trickster God, either out of jealousy or sheer devilment took it upon himself to ensure that Baldur fell. He fashioned a dart out of misteltoe and tricked Hod, Baldur's blind twin, into aiming it at Baldur. When Baldur died as a result Hermoth famously raced Odin's six-legged horse to Hel and pleaded for his brother's safe return. Hel agreed on the condition that every being in the world shed tears of grief and Hermoth and his mother set about making everything on the planet cry for Baldur. Ultimately only one old woman refused. That woman, as it turned out, was Loki in disguise. All the same they'd failed to achieve their goal and Baldur remained in the afterlife. However, in recognition of his son's remarkable devotion to his brother, Odin made Hermoth the lord of Valhalla.
